This exhibition is inspired by traditional Japanese designs seen in historical artefacts. In a simple yet effective way, the shapes and patterns are used to convey the hidden meaning. The images are not meant to be realistic and may not use lifelike colours. The artist has taken shapes and patterns from nature and harmonised them with a figure, in the tradition of the old masters, but with his own unique approach. His new series has seen a shift in direction, introducing shapes and patterns alongside the human form.
